Wave and swipe…

This morning was the first time I used the UOB Visa Pay Wave card, the new fandangled card of convenience… ok first I must profess that I originally signed up this card cuz I was led to believe that you only needed to wave this card infront of the scanner to pay and that’s it. All the ads suggested that too. Today, I used it to buy breakfast at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Paragon.

Had to get the staff to scramble cuz they didn’t know how to activate the system! So I tapped the card, saw the Transaction Complete appear on the PayWave LCD. Ok smooth enough. Then the staff of Coffee Bean asked me for my card to swipe. Swipe? Yeah to get the Coffee Bean receipt.

So they’ve replaced the Swipe and Sign with Tap and Swipe. That’s it?
